Now we can line our pin holes up, that looks pretty good. Then we can take our pin and clip - this carrier doesn't come with a pin and clip but you can find it on our website at etrailer.com, part number PC3. Put our clip on and then we'll take a few measurements. Let's start with our nearest point and it actually looks like it's going to be right up top here. That's about 2-1/2" away from here to our rear hatch. more

Now its dimensions are 23x56 and it has a max capacity of 450 pounds and it's for 2 inch hitches only. We can go ahead and start by loading our shank into our receiver. Now we'll line our pin holes up, all right that looks pretty good and we'll take our included anti rattle bolt and clip, go ahead and thread those through. All right once we get that hand tightened, we'll go ahead and finish that the rest of the way down with our wrench and by tightening this, it's going to help reduce the play and the rattle within our hitch and our carrier. Get our clip on here and then we'll take a few measurements. more

Once those are in line we'll take our pin and clip. We're using part number PC3 today as this carrier doesn't come with one. You'll slide it through the holes and attach the clip to the other side. The closest part of the carrier to the vehicle is going to be the rail to the bumper. That's going to measure about 6 inches from the outer most point of the bumper to the carrier. more

We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the carrier into the hitch on our vehicle. The measurements and the weight of this carrier make it a little awkward to handle. I've found it's easiest to get it resting in the hitch, you'll then move around to the back and you're going to pick up and push in at the same time. Once you have it started, you want to watch for the hitch pin holes to line up. With those in line, we'll take our pin and clip. We're going to be using part number PC3 today. We'll slide it through the holes. more

We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank into the hitch on our vehicle. You'll want to watch for the hitch pin holes to line up. With those in line, we'll take the threaded anti-rattle hitch bolt and thread that into place. We'll get this hand tight and then we can tighten it down with a wrench. Try to find a good way to get in there so you have the room to do it. Tightening this down is going to help to take any extra play out of the shank of the carrier, which helps to eliminate movement overall as you're going down the road. more

Once we have it hand tight we'll use our wrench to tighten it down. Tightening it down is going to take the play out of the connection point between the vehicle and the carrier. more

A strategy that I've adopted it will be to just tilt the carrier down. Get the bottom of the shank resting in the bottom of the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to lift up in the rear and push in at the same time. more

Today on our 2014 KIA Sorento, we will be test fitting the 31 by 47 Pro Series Solo cargo carrier for 2 inch hitches. With a 400 pound weight capacity, it's part number is PS1040100. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up our pins holes, insert our pins, and secure it with a clip. With our carrier secure, we will have about 13 inches of ground clearance at the rear. The closest point of the carrier to the back of our vehicle is about 7 3/4 of an inch. Overall, we've added about 39 1/2 inches to the length of our Sorento. The exhaust on our Sorento exists on the passenger side and it points directly out of the rear of the vehicle towards the cargo carrier. It's about 10 1/2 inches from our carrier. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, insert our pin, and secure it with the clip. In this position, you'll have about 10-1/2 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest point of the carrier to the back of the vehicle is about 3-1/2 inches, and overall, we've added about 22-1/4 inches to the length of the Sorento. The exhaust on our Sorento exits on the passenger side, and it points directly out of the rear of the vehicle, towards the cargo carrier. This should be considered, when transporting heat sensative materials. more

To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinhole, slide in our pin, and secure it with our clip. In this position we have about nine and a half inches of ground clearance, the closest point of the carrier to the back of the vehicle is about two and a half inches. And overall we've added about six and a half inches to the length of our Sorento. Pulling the pin and clip at the base of our rack will allow you to fold it into its loading position. We will want to reinsert the pin and clip to secure it. In this position you will have about eleven and a half inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, well be test fitting the 23x56 Rola Dart Cargo Carrier for 2 inch hitches, part number 59550. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now well go over a few clearance of measurements. We have about 10-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of our carrier to the rear of our Sportage is about 2-1/2 inches. Weve added 11 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Max Tow Cargo Carrier for 2" hitches, part #MT70107. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch and securing it with the pin and clip. Now we'llgo ahead and go over some clearance measurements to see how to the two fit together. At the rear of the carrier, we have about 10-1/2" of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportage is about 2" away, and wehavea total of about 21-1/2" to the overall length of our vehicle. Now the exhaust does exit on the passenger side about 10-1/2" away from the platform of our carrier and the cargo door does break over the surface of our carrier at about 18". Therefore, you can carry deer up to about 18" high and still have full access to the rear hatch. That will complete today's test fit for the Max Tow Cargo Carrier, part #MT70107 on our 2013 Kia Sportage. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch and securing it with a pin and clip. Now that the carrier is secured we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about nine inches of ground clearance with the platform folded up. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportage is about a quarter of an inch away. I would use caution when carrying the cargo carrier in its folded up position as there is some rattle when using a normal pin and clip. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the Cargo Carrier into the opening of the hitch, threading in our ___ and tightening it with awrench. With the Cargo Carrier secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 10-1/2" of ground clearance at the rear of the Cargo Carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportageis about 1" away, and we've added about 20-1/2" to the overall length of our vehicle. Now the exhaust on this particular vehicle does exit on the passenger side about 9-1/2" away from the base of our Cargo Carrier. Now the cargo door does break over the surface of our carrier at about 18". more

Now, with the carrier secured to our vehicle, we'll go over a couple of clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. At the rear of the carrier, we have about 10-1/2 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportage is about 1/2 inch away, and we've added about 26-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Sportage. Now, the vehicle's exhaust does exit on the passenger's side, about 10 inches away, and the cargo door does break over the surface of the carrier at about 17 inches. That will complete today's test fit for the Surco Cargo Carrier, part number 52018, on our 2013 Kia Sportage. . more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento, we'll be test fitting the Rola-Dart cargo carrier for 2-inch hitches, 23 x 56, part number 59550. Now to begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier in to the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten with a wrench. Now with our Rola-Dart cargo carrier secured to our Kia Sorento, we'll go over some clearance measurements to see how they fit together. With the platform folded up, we have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle, here at the rear bumper, is about 3 1/2 inches and we've added about 12 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the big red handle at the top of the platform to tilt the platform down and with the platform folded down we have about 14 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the Kia Sorento is here at the rear bumper and this distance is about 9 inches and we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Now the exhaust does exit on the passenger side of the vehicle and dose face down. Therefore, it would be all right to carry heat sensitive materials on this cargo carrier. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorrento we'll be test fitting the Curt 20 x 60 folding aluminum cargo carrier, part number C18100. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, and secure it with a pin and clip. Now that our cargo carrier is secured to our Kia Sorrento, we're ready to go over some clearance measurements. With the platform folded up we have about 9 1/2 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle, here at the rear bumper, is about 3 inches and we've added about 6 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the silver pin at the base of the carrier to fold down the platform and with the platform folded down we have about 12 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the Kia Sorrento is about 7 inches and we've added about 26 inches of overall length of our vehicle. Now the cargo door does break over the surface of the cargo carrier at about 20 inches. Therefore, carrying large items, up to 20 inches in length, you will still have full access to your cargo area. Now the exhaust on this particular model does exit the passenger side and faces downward, therefore it would be okay to carry heat sensitive materials on this cargo carrier. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento we'll be test fitting the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number C18145. Now to begin our test fit, using the included two inch adapter, we'll slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the closest part of the carrier to the back of the vehicle measures two inches. The cargo carrier will add an additional twenty-two inches of overall length to the vehicle. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento well be test fitting part number M2205. This is the Carpod 24 by 48 walled folding cargo carrier for two inch hitches, rated at 450 pounds. Well begin our test fit by sliding the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, lining up the hitch pin holes and installing our hitch pin. We can then put the clip on the other side of the pin which will secure the cargo carrier to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and unfold the platform of our Carpod flat. Well pull the pin, allow the platform to fold down and reinstall the pin. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorrento well be test fitting the Surco 24 inch by 60 inch cargo carrier for two inch hitches, part number 52018. To mount our carrier to the vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up our hitch pin hole and then secure the carrier with a standard 5/8 inch pin and clip. Now well go over a handful of clearance measurements. Weve got about 9 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. Theres about 1 inches of clearance between the closest part of the bumper and the closest part of the carrier. more
